Prof. Jen Shang is a Philanthropic Psychologist at Plymouth Business School. Her research and teaching focus on the “Why”s in understanding the psychology of philanthropy. She sees the deepening of our understanding in this domain as the only true way of enhancing the practice of fundraising. She has worked on research projects with over 100 charities in the United States, UK and Australia. She held faculty positions at Indiana University and National University of Singapore. Her research appeared in BBC, The Guardians, The Economist, Professional Fundraising, Third Sector, New York Times and Nonprofit Times.
